sigh…. tbh this plot kinda lost me in the beginning with the “we discovered extraterrestrial life and the aliens are 2 foot long lice” but the ending was weirdly better than the start? this book was written in 2001 and it was super weird to read this spy/ government conspiracy mystery novel where the big scandal at the heart of the book was a presidential candidate taking large funds from private corporations as a bribe and his aide was so scandalized and betrayed when she found out she left his campaign. Now not only is taking $$$$ totally legal but also the things this “thriller” book imagined a corrupt presidential candidate might do are so much tamer/less corrupt than what our current president is doing openly. kind of a sickening comparison
in conclusion i will not be reading any more dan brown my standards for this style of book are really not high and even i was unimpressed

As usual, Brown put hundred chapters in his book. It was kinda boring at first, and confusing. Being not familiar with all the US high-end organizations made me couldn't follow the lead. I even had to put it down for a month, because it was tiring.
But. Brown is so smart in deviding the chapters as always. How it jumped from one place to another, from one character to the rest. It's so smart and i wonder how he wrote it without losing its excitement. Also, after reading this thick book i just realized that it only took 2 days! For all the ups and downs! Imagine it! And surely, i began to enjoy it when i reached 30ths chapter and i hardly could put it down this time.
But again. The plot was so slow in the end. I wanted it to end sooner. But when i got the last chapter, i wished it'd never come, ever. I dont like it, maybe im just being emotional. But i think the book would still be great even without that part iykwim

This was the first book by Dan Brown I've ever read and I immediately fell in love with his writing style. He writes small chapters that are really easy to read. I finished this book in a single night. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys fast-paced thriller mysteries.
