Dan Brown's writing of women is....what it is, and his "main secret antagonist" is always very very predictable, but this was still a fun read. Deception Point was one of my favorite books as a teenager in the early 2000s, it was surprisingly fun to re-read as an adult in a world with 25 years of tech advancement behind.

I love Dan Brown and will continue to love each book he publishes. This novel is adventurous and action packed whilst also explaining many scientific and technological capabilities in an easy to understand way through the lense of a non-scientist. Almost as if the characters know the readers may not understand the science.... All the characters are lovable and the book is easy to read. It feels more fast paced than some of his other novels, but an enjoyable and refreshing read. The plot twist was not entirely understandable, but it remained somewhat plausible and acceptable. Great book overall.

Fun and fast read. Not as good as Angels and Demons, to me, but still entertaining.

A popcorn blockbuster movie in book form. Formulaic, but a fun and easy read.

I was on a kick of reading Dan Brown while on the Australian beaches. It may have been a mistake because I was tired of the crazy twists and silly romances that kept the plot moving. I bet I would like this book a lot more if I hadn't been on Brown overload. I liked the fact that this was not a religiously fueled plot and focused more on secret political agendas.

Death, in this forsaken place, could come in countless forms.
