First actual space battle. I kind of dislike the space warfare system in this series, but that is okay.

I loved the first one, not so much for the second but the third was written almost by a different writer. The plot holes were larger than the grand canyon, the stupidity of the main characters was so far away from the first book I couldn't believe it. I have no idea what happened but I couldn't even finish it, and that happens to me once in a 100 books if that.

Still having fun with this series, but I might be reading them too close together for maximum enjoyment. Some of the things that are good refreshers when you have to wait for each book to come out are a little too frequent when you read them back to back to back.

Rating: Ky is determined, and a bit crazy and fun as heck.

“We could just do something stupid again, wait for them to pounce, and then surprise them by suddenly becoming brilliant,” Martin said. That got a chuckle.

I love the characters and the tangled familial emotions and ties and obligations. The story is interesting and I enjoy the space battles and tactics.

Between Ky and Aunt Grace, the pirates and bad guys better run.
