Arthur Conan Doyle not only gave us Sherlock Holmes, the great detective, he spawned a literary trope that has inspired numerous others to take up the pen to allow Sherlock to remain a fresh idea more than a century after "A Study in Scarlet" was published in 1887. Kudos to Dana Cameron for giving us yet another unique look at Sherlock and his cohorts. She provides a close look at 221B Baker Street, Mrs. Hudson, and Doctor Watson while adding a Cousin, Amelia Vernet. Even the venerable Mycroft Holmes makes an appearance. To say more would be telling, and I don't do spoilers.

Dana Cameron's writing meshes with the kind of story I like to read like the gears in a fine Swiss watch. If she was to write more tales of the great detective in the vein of "The Curious Case of Miss Amelia Vernet," I would read them all.

eh, I'm not much of a Sherlock fan so maybe that was it. I'll read the next as it takes place in the here and now and then decide.
