This book was both enlightening and troubling. This is a father's story of his difficulty accepting his son, who bore the brunt of being born prematurely as a twin, with resulting brain damage. te book describes, with historical perspective, a two week road trip the father and son took. Buzz Bissinger is very open about his shortcomings as a parent and clearly wants to fully and completely accept his son for who he is. It is also clear that he has his own demons that have not been conquered.....it is no surprise that he has been divorced twice and has uneasy relationships with his sons. An interesting read, but ultimately, it came across as self-indulgent.
