If you read "Mother Faker" it's like being welcomed back to dinner with the crazy Langfield family. Getting to catch up on the latest happenings with Beckett and Liv was a like a balm for the soul.
The romance... the revenge... and can't forget about the comedic moments. Everything was just perfect. Brooks and Sara were a powerhouse couple. But then again, I am a sucker for the best friends to lovers trope.

Brooks & Sara were a perfect couple together. I loved reading their story. Brooks has been secretly pining for Sara but has done his best to hide it because she is in a relationship with a mysterious person. Sara is actually in a relationship with his uncle, so it’s a bit forbidden due to their jobs and that is why they have kept it secret. What she doesn’t know is that he is still married and lied about his divorce. When all that comes to light and Sara is feeling horrible, it is Brooks who is there for her. They also have a fake relationship for a little bit. I love how different they were but how they fit so well together. I also think it was a nice change to have the guy be the less experienced one.

Did I have fun? Yes. Would I read it again? No.

Would I read it as a standalone? Definitely not.

The main appeal to this is the continuous universe and without it I’d be bored.

The MMC was just boring after reading Aiden’s story lol. Brooks has like no personality
