The amount of Damian content in this ahhhhh a perfect mixture of heartwarming and sad.

I didn't really like Damian and his little gang of friends that much at first but now omg I love him. I hope he gets infinite Stella stars. His dad can step on lego though. Bond is the absolute best doggo ever, hilarious. I feel like there's not enough Anya scenes in this one (tbh there's no such thing as too many Anya scenes) but the few she was in was super adorable as always.

Now moving on to the adults, I can't make up my mind about Yuri. I love him individually as a character, but then I think of his obsession with Yor and uhhh things get very creepy and weird. That journalist guy getting arrested was actually sad, I didn't expect it at all. I wanna know more about why Westalis and Ostania were at war, which side got it worse, why does Desmond have that much power and say in this and all that lore (idk if I'm forgetting something, it's been a while since I kept up with this series). I wonder what Loid meant about how no country speaks the classical language currently, and what that means in relation to Anya not sucking at it (again, I'm not sure if I'm forgetting something) but I hope that gets expanded in the future. Yor saying this will be her final mission as the Thorn Princess, I really hope she changes her mind. If she actually quits, the whole spy-and-assassin-from-opposite-sides-are-married-completely-unaware that makes this series unique will be gone. And also Yor's super slay assassin outfit will be gone too :/ I really hope something comes up and this won't be her final mission.

Okay but that section where Bond freaks out about Yor's cooking and goes to find Loid? Hilarious. This was a fun, entertaining volume, getting to see another side of Damian, that whole camping scene was really fun to read. Overall, this series is just all around fun. Can't wait to get the next volume with that sort of cliffhanger!

The main mission finally progresses as Loid makes first contact with his target! As a result, volume 7 reveals a deeper glimpse into Damian's school life and the distant relationship he has with his father. And on the subject of family, Yor starts to wonder if her job is really necessary now that her brother can take care of himself just as she gets called to meet with the mysterious Shopkeeper face to face for another debriefing on what may be her final mission.

Yuri gets a (much overdue) small bit of character development, however slim it is. Despite just beginning to acknowledge that he can't cling to his sister the same way anymore, he has a long way to go before he gets over his weird sister complex. Throughout his chapter, he is also forced to realize that there are multiple sides to this silent war. The people he condemns for "killing countless people in their own pursuit of justice" are doing it for the same reason that he himself is "killing countless people in his pursuit of justice" - to protect their families. This opens up the story to the teeniest glimmer of criticism of Ostania's police state, but since Yuri fully leans into his job as The Only Way to achieve peace, it doesn't go very far.
