Did I read this as a child? Probably; I cannot remember.
I certainly saw the movie every year. I've seen the re-make of the movie in live action, and I've seen a play staged at Universal's Seuss Island at Christmas time. These are all wonderful.
The simple words and drawings in the book are still more powerful than all that technology can create. Dr. Seuss was a genius at writing simply yet poignantly.
My favorite line - and some may agree - is near the end.
"Maybe Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!"
