4.5 stars for this heart-aching beauty. Literally the only thing that bothered me is the thrown-in eating disorder, which was never called that, but should have been addressed. If a person isn't eating food and is described to look too thin, it should be a part of their story, not just a characteristic that gets thrown in randomly. I believe this sends a negative message saying that this sort of behavior with food is normal, and it's not. Or, it shouldn't be, and it shouldn't be perpetuated as normal in books. ASIDE FROM THAT THO.... Dang did this thing swallow me up. Loved the dialogue the whole way through, loved the well-crafted character development, and absolutely adored the quirky and vibrant Gavin. This was my first Renee Carlino book and it won't be the last!

If this story didn't have an happy ending, I would have probably hated this book. I don't think I have often been so frustrated, annoyed and disappointed in the choices the main characters make. My heart ached almost constantly and on multiple points in the story I just wanted to grab one of them (or both) to shake some sense in them.
But I did love the way they connected in the blind kiss experiment, how their love was woven through their lives and defined the perception of the milestones of their lives and how Ling in the end tried to describe the unexplainable vibe she got witnessing the blind kiss between Penny and Gavin.

I read the first couple of chapters and I did not enjoy the writing nor the dialogue between characters. It felt very unbelievable and I don't' have patience to follow characters who explode for no rational reason.
Blind Kiss was a good book and I overall enjoyed reading it. However, it kind of felt like one of those books, I’ll probably forget about again quite quickly. Also I was so confused about the fact that their son ended up going to college at the age of 13 or 14, I feel like I missed a few chapters somewhere.

"I'm just tired of watching you make your life decisions based on the men in your life."
This quote could be the whole summary of the story. I gave this book a chance because I want to know what's going to happen next. They met for an experiment. It was so weird. It was insta love thats why it put me off mood but the first chapter started with someone fighting and leaving so I got to know whats up.
The story revolves within 14 years. I would say that this book was frustratingly weird in a good way? I don't know. I kept reading so its something.
Gavin in the beginning was talkative and a weirdo. Penny was indecisive with her relationship and feelings with Gavin that resulted with unnecessary turmoil with both of them and I was supposed to be mad about their stupidity about the whole thing but surprisedly I found it real. Because I know a lot of my friends or someone I know suffered from these similar situations that are both frustrating and ridiculous but real. That's why I kept reading to see how will everything turn out in the end. It was okay. I really felt Gavin's love for her and less of Penny.

Can I give a book 4 stars yet despise the two main characters for being knuckleheads? This is my first time reading a novel by Renée Carlino and I think she’s a solid writer who has me feeling all sorts of feelings right now. It’s about two people who should’ve gotten together all those years ago but didn’t. Instead they’re caught in limbo to this day. Unfortunately there’s collateral damage in their wake thanks to their stupid decisions. It’s an intense story and my recommendation is that if you’re going to read it, make sure you’re not in a bad mood or slump. I had originally tried to read it a few weeks ago and after the first chapter knew I couldn’t tackle the emotional intensity just yet. My second time around and I couldn’t put the book down.
POSSIBLE TRIGGERS: depression, marital problems, cheating, emotional cheating

I remember reading my first ever Renee Carlino book, it was Wish you were here, and I instantly fell in love with her writing.
This book was both heartwarming and heartbreaking.
I’ve never ever ever had so many mixed emotions reading a book!!! 100000 stars!!!!
