Brutal reviews. Bodies did not deserve the negativity. It has the facade of a detective story but really, it dealt with much heavier themes than that. It scratches that itch in my brain real nicely and urges me to go back and re-read over and over again.

So, a different artist drawing each of four timelines; a body turns up in each and gets investigated by a detective of the time, two in the past, one present day and one in the future.
If you've seen the TV series ... that's about the extent of the similarities, and having seen the TV series beforehand, this seemed less coherent, less satisfying and generally disappointing.
Maybe if I hadn't seen the television series first I would have been a little more appreciative of what it tried to do?

You can so tell this was written by a white liberal in 2015 trying to do muslim representation but also without knowing any muslims. Shahara is actually terribly written but the art is so so soooo good and the way the mystery is revealed is actually really compelling.
