Very experimental, especially on the structure. I appreciated that aspect, but overall nor the story or the characters captivated me in any way.

In the slog of it, I felt little affection for this novel. Impressed? Yes. Giggles of dark comedy? Yes. Gratitude for my comforts and naïve belief in their eternity? Yes. Ah, my ignorance, my ignorance. I applauded the literary triumph of capturing time and heat in words, wept three times for Esti, and learned an obvious endless lesson of history: the "persistent and hopeless fight for human dignity" is a lost cause.
