I really enjoyed this classic cozy mystery set on the Outer Banks. It had a great location and fun and interesting characters but I have to say the author was really let down by the narrator. I am not sure I have ever listened to a book where the narrator seemed less interested in what she was reading which is really sad as the book was fun. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

A fun beach book set in the Outer Banks; I read it while vacationing at the Outer Banks and it was just right for the beach bag!
It’s a cozy mystery! I feel like so many of these fall into the category so well, this was no different.
Some of the puns were a bit much, but overall enjoyable to listen to.

Better than most I've listened to lately. It's too long- there are parts where the protagonist is thinking out loud in convoluted circles that don't make any sense with what she said 5 minutes ago. But, the author clearly knows her classic works and there's as many interesting things going on with the library itself as there is with the murder. I'm not thrilled with the love triangle, but I do like most of the characters.
If I can make one request of the cozy authors out there, ENOUGH with the female friendship hostility. I have NEVER in my life looked at a good friend who was looking particularly well and though "god I hate her for being more attractive than me." I might have felt insecure about myself but I didn't think negatively about my friend- stop breeding this BS.
I'm mixed on Louisa Jane... couldn't stand her throughout the book but hoping she'll prove more complex than initially presented.

My first introduction to the genre of “cozy mystery” and I’m hooked! ❤️ I absolutely loved this mystery- a lighthouse, a library, a lovely lead character, love interests, and a great “who done it” mystery! I was left wondering and guessing throughout the whole book, and it truly was a “cozy up and read” book.
I gave it five stars because it is the perfect little cozy mystery, with a great plot, unique characters, and a lovely start to a series!
