I actually really liked this one despite usually not enjoying cozy mysteries. This was just the right combo.

Such a cute cozy mystery series opener! I love a cozy mystery, I love a library, I love a cozy mystery set in a library - and this one has the added bonus of the library in question being in an historic lighthouse on the Outer Banks! A perfect summer series, I've already got the second checked out from my local library, and plan to spend the next week or so devouring this cute series!

Compelling mystery, cozy setting, and a few moments of sizzling tension! There were a lot of characters and they blended together a bit. Aside from that, I loved this first book in a new mystery series and I look forward to the next installment.
I kinda hoped for a little more “haunted” level to the haunted lighthouse library but it wasn’t as supernatural as I hoped. I still enjoyed it but I’m hoping it becomes more haunted as the series continues. Looking forward to reading more!

Digs at hip-hop aside, this was a fun first book. Usually cozy mysteries get better gradually, so I'm going to pick up the next book or two to see how I feel about the series.
I enjoyed this one, so I'm optimistic.

So. Much. Fun! An Outer Banks setting, a lighthouse library, Jane Austen-related plot, and Charles the library cat - the makings of a perfect cozy mystery. The book has so many OBX details that it is hard to believe the author is not a native of the area. I so enjoyed reading By Book or by Crook and definitely plan to read more of the Lighthouse Library Mystery series. Read if you enjoy: cozy mysteries, books about books, cats, Outer Banks settings

I enjoyed the setting, and the book talk.
Some of the characters personalities are a little over the top and the accusations/forgiveness was a bit overdone… I didn’t catch onto the whodunnit before the reveal, so that’s always a win for me. The Library and family group hooked me enough I’d pick up another in the series.
Also, “The Moonstone” is a book I’ve been meaning to read myself, so the classics bookclub appeal was strong. If this is a recurring plot point that could be fun to follow.
