DID NOT FINISH

Too dialogue heavy. The main character was irritating. Read 2 1/2 chapters.

So many unlikable characters all shoved into one book. It took forever to get into it because I just wanted to punch everyone in the face. I didn't see the ending coming, that was just about the only saving grace. They did redeem a few of the terrible people though, so maybe they'll be more tolerable in the next book.
slow-paced

I started this series because of the name Bodie and because my childhood dream was to live alone in a lighthouse filled with books. It is a pleasant series.

3.5 stars, pretty good for the first in a new series. I'm a sucker for stories set in a coastal community, and a library set in a lighthouse is a cute touch. The plot had a lot of twists and turns, kept me guessing until the end. I thought the characters could've been fleshed out a little more, most were one-dimensional scenery. Also a hint of a dreaded love triangle (ugh!) that I'm hoping is not long and drawn out.

Definitely a promising start and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
