Every Single Secret had me on the edge of my seat. From start to end, I was deeply engrossed in this thrilling mystery. Daphne, who has secrets she wishes to keep hidden, reluctantly agrees to attend a couples retreat with her fiance Heath. After arriving at the remote mountain home, Daphne starts to notice that things are not what they seem. She soon comes to learn that she isn't the only one hiding a secret.
I enjoyed this very much and still keep thinking about it.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of the book, the opinions are my own.

I didn’t love this one. I think the storyline was written well. It kept me on my toes wondering what would happen next, but Daphne, the main character - who I wanted to like and care about - wasn’t likable. I wanted to - but just couldn’t. Her quirks were annoying and her love for her fiancé was obsessive. I couldn’t like any of the characters. I rushed through just to get away from them.

Far-Fetched

I'm trying to think of a slasher movie/gothic horror novel trope that's not used here. But I can't. We've got serial killers, twisted romantic relationships, a mysterious house in the woods, abused children, shady doctors, silent servants... It's all there, and it's just too much. To call this far-fetched is putting it mildly.

Thanks to the publishers, Goodreads, and Amazon for the free digital ARC of this novel.

When I started Every Single Secret, I knew it would be a story about secrets, maybe lots of secrets, but I was not at all prepared for the depth of the secrets. Wow! For Daphne and Heath, they come to find out that that things are not always what they seem at Baskens.

Daphne is a woman to be admired, a strong person who defies authority to get at the truth. We know right from the get-go that she is running from someone, trying to escape something, but as we get deeper and deeper into the story, there are so many questions. Why are they really there? Where are all the other people who are supposed to be there with them? Who's all in on whatever is going on? What is going on? What's real? What's for show?

So many questions! I sped through the book as I needed answers just as much as Daphne did—what an intense ride! And I loved every minute of it!

In Every Single Secret, Emily Carpenter weaves the perfect psychological thriller: complex characters and a fast-paced plot shrouded in layers of mystery and suspense. I flipped through the pages eager to uncover the many secrets, and Carpenter skillfully kept me guessing right up until the very end. Fans are in for a real treat. Buckle up. Thank you to Net Galley and the author for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

This is a great book with so many twists and turns. The ending was not what I predicted at all.

Well written, I think. However, some of the characters were a little gag-worthy and unbelievable. If I could do half stars I would bump it up another because there were times that story was very thrilling and had me neglecting sleep. However, the cheese factor and character development really brought it down.

I listened to this audiobook & the reader was really annoying. She sounded put out and bored, huffing all the time. If it weren’t for this, the book was probably 4 stars.
