It feels so wrong to give a BONE book only three stars! I adore the whole series, but this section in particular is the my least favorite. Kinda like the last HP book could have easily been called "Harry Potter Goes Camping" this could have been called "Bone and Friends Take a Walk". There were some interesting revelations, like finding out Lucias was a big ol' wad of male driven hormones as a teen, but it just didn't feel like quite enough of a mover-of-plot to warrant its own volume. Bring on Book 8 I say!

A bit tedious. Lots of walking around and doubting each other. Plenty of end-of-the-world doom & gloom. This volume in particular really reminded me of LotR. It all feels a bit disjointed and not always internally consistent/logical. Still entertaining enough that I finished the whole thing, though.

Finally, Phoney has grown on me. I think it was the captain ahab get-up. :)

And the battle begins.

If any of you were worried about never seeing Bartleby again, don't worry, he's back!! I'm so happy to see the baby rat creature again pretty much all grown up. And we get to finally find out why Bartleby doesn't look like the other rat creatures, which was interesting!

This volume introduces new magic and elements and furthers the narrative with the Lord of the Locust, and shows us just how chaotic the world would truly be if he were freed.

Exciting and thrilling! Can't wait to read the next one!

The story getting more interesting, the characters growing; everything is ramping up. The only thing that I would consider a negative is the seeming leap in Thorn's character; I feel though that by the end, the changes will be reconciled.
