One of the best sci fi books I've read this far. I've watched both of the movies but this isn't comparable in any way.

The description of the young woman absolutely disgusted me. I tried to see if I could finish the book, but every time I thought of it I was immediately dissuaded.

to me it seems that the main intention behind this was to show us humans that there is nothing that differentiates us from other animals. we are animals too. our intellect, our morals and our reason can be taken away by only so little as guns or a little cage. so what do we make out of this? is it to strive for more progress? to develop to a point where we can strictly distinguish ourselves from all other living creatures and reign over them? even the apes that are so eerily similar to us? seems like an approach fitting our current political climate dare i say...
i prefer a more naive approach...
treat every creature with the respect and dignity that you would give to your "equal"... in which way you define that
