This one is much better than Lavender House, which I liked a lot. But Rosen is really hitting a stride with Andy and the world Andy lives in, and this is a much more traditional mystery instead of a closed-room like the first one was.

I liked the mystery a lot more in this one because I love getting revelations about someone's haunted past. Rosen does a great job immersing you in the time period, but I want more depth from the characters. I was surprised that the house and its varied cast didn't come in to play here; I like Elsie and Gene and Lee a lot, but I missed the others. It's a very unique series and I'll definitely keep reading.

The sequel to Lavender House! I enjoyed learning more about Andy's past. He's slowly becoming more comfortable with his new life by trying to help others within the LGBT community. Loving the character development and twists within the story.

The sequel was pretty good, gets a solid 4 stars from me as I really liked how it was a murder mystery and it followed the main characters life to get reestablished in the world as a PI for queer folks. I did appreciate the romance and the introduction of new characters! I appreciated the drag queens and kings; getting a glimpse into the culture and how the world might have looked in 1950s for queer folk was nice. A nice short read with great pace and no boring parts that I felt the need to plow through!
