I decided to read this because I thought the movie was fun. I don't like the shifting perspectives, and in some areas the pacing was really off, five pages ended up feeling like fifty. The story overall was fairly entertaining, and the characters weren't too bad, but I sadly have no interest in continuing the series.

Great story! Sure, you have to suspend belief a bit, but I really enjoyed this. The story (for the most part) moves at a great pace, and the characters are realistic (even if the situations they constantly seem to find themselves in are not). Definitely recommend this book. Don't think I'll be continuing on with the series given how poor the reviews are for the second book, but I'm glad I read this. I saw the movie trailer for it when we went to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and when I saw it started life as a book, I knew I needed to read it.

World building could’ve used more work. I felt confused for a while. Also not knowing who’s pov you’re reading until you get context clues, this was worst <60%

So so so good!!! Even though I saw the movie first (and I loved it), I felt like it was another completely different experience with the book, and it was awesome! Same story as the movie, different feelings. I got inside the book and lived the story with the characters. Cant wait to read the second one!

I'm giving it three stars because it was entertaining but way too predictable. The world building was SO promising but didn't live up to its full potential for me. Also the conflicted love interest was kinda pointless, and felt forced and unrealistic :( Might give a chance to the second book.

description

This book was amazing. An amazing story of survival, and who is really you enemy. The writing is one of the best I've ever read.

Overall, this was really good!

I liked writing style and plot flow but it was bit slow in the beginning. It does pick up quickly though! This is multiple POVS and I liked that fact a lot, I wish it were more clear about whose POV you switched to, depending on the chapter. I found it a little confusing at times.

This was very entertaining and interesting! I will say, this doesn’t have much romance at all but it doesn’t need it. This had an intriguing plot and captivating characters! I highly recommend if you like sci-fi and dystopian novels!
