I loved this character-driven installment in the Lady Sherlock series even more on my reread. This one is quiet and heart-wrenching and really freaking confusing, but the character work for Mrs. Watson, Livia, and Mr. Marbleton, alongside the relationship arc for Charlotte and Ash and the appearance of my favorite English spy, Leighton Atwood, makes this just a knockout for me.
Moderate: Kidnapping, Misogyny, and Colonisation
Minor: Murder

I just plain enjoyed this book as a light-hearted mystery to listen to on a marathon day of plane travel.
Minor: Colonisation
