This was a happy book.
Yes it touched on some sad moments but overall it was that second chance romance.
The do over of all the what ifs in life.
I loved the dialogue and the crazy banter between the characters.
I can't wait to read more of this series and stay in this world a little longer.

This is supposed to be an adult novel but the characters still seemed like teenagers. For me, it was a bit predictable. I also felt sorry for Wyatt because his lover never truly loved him with her whole heart. He was a safety net. So yeah, this was okay but not amazing for me.
I fell in love with this book. The story not only felt realistic in the way that Oliver and Estelle's love story was revealed but was an amazing story that kept me entertained that I kept wanting more. I enjoyed being able to escape into this world and it was an easy read that took me only a day to finish because I could not put it down. Not only are the main characters incredible but the best friends felt real and made me jump right into Mia and Jenson's sorry in Paper Hearts. I do not often like stand alone novels, but the way Ms. Contreras revealed the story made it feel complete and like a finished work, which is often difficult to do. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a contemporary novel that makes you fall in love with the two MCs.
I liked it. Some things I wish were done better and some parts I did skim but I love the way she writes only because it’s so different and the same from all the other romance books I read but I can’t explain it. I wish there was a different ending it was so predictable but I like the premise of the story. It was good for a quick read which is something I need right now.
1.5 Stars. The guys were waaaaaay too controlling. The boys in general were misogynistic in the same way so many NA guys are misogynists playing at being feminists. Also the MC was irritating as well. "I wanted him to not do what I told him to"--What is that?! ://// This book was a study in unnecessary miscommunication. I'm sorry but the whole "I can't be with her because she's my best friend's little sister" thing is bogus. Her brother doesn't own her and that kind of over-protectiveness is absurd and rather unhealthy. Oliver in general was very flighty and the games Estelle kept trying to play were pretty manipulative. They all needed counseling IMO. But then, I feel like almost all NA characters do. I guess it serves me right to keep reading books like this when I know they're doomed to fail.
PS ALSO fedoras...really?

A very, very sweet romance. I enjoyed it.
Kaleidoscope Hearts sounded like an interesting read, and got great reviews so I figured I'd give it a try. I was semi-disappointed, and this book is only worthy of 3 1/2 stars (why can't we do half stars on goodreads!!!)
KH (sorry, not spelling out each time) is the story of Estelle (love the name) and Oliver. Elle lost her fiancee a year ago, and has had a hard time dealing with his passing. Then one day, Oliver, her first love and her brother's best friend, returns. Once lovers, now just friends.
I never really felt the connection between Elle and Oliver. I really didn't get Oliver either. He seemed to have committment issues, but it really didn't make sense why he would. Elle's brother was super annoying, as was her best friend. This book had a happy ending, but overall was disappointing.

This one was OK. At the beginning of the book we find our protagonist, Estelle, about to leave the house she shared with the fiancé she lost a year ago to go live with her brother. Soon after that she runs into her brother's best friend, Oliver, and the man who broke her heart years ago. You can probably figure out the rest, but although predictable, the story was nice and made sense.
Elle is a likable main character - she is frequently blinded by Oliver's hotness, but she also doesn't put up with his crap much, which is a nice change from most NA books. I loved the concept of the kaleidoscope hearts and. I also liked how the author dealt with Elle's guilt and pain about moving on, it was nice to see her struggling with her feelings instead of just falling head over heels for Oliver and forgetting all about her past life with Wyatt.
My biggest problem (at least in the first half of the book) was Oliver himself. This is someone who has known Elle for all her life, knows about what she is going through and everything he put her through, and he just barges into her life again expecting that it will be fine. Thankfully he gets better as the book goes on, and I suppose the guy is kind of irresistible with all those husky whispers and the awesome hair (♥). Another problem I had with Oliver is . So in the end everything was cute and well :)
I was going to give it 3 stars, but I knocked half a star down because their lack of communication towards the end of the book was getting ridiculous and it kind of got to my nerves. The best thing for me were the supporting characters, Elle's parents in particular were super lovable and funny.
I'd definitely recommend this book for a nice weekend at home :)

and that was one hell of a first date *sighs*Spoiler
that through the book we get some chapters told as flashbacks from his point of view, explaining how he came to fall in love with Elle, and the first two chapters basically talked about how hot she is and all the horny thoughts he had about her. This bothered me a lot, but then I thought how I'm always annoyed about insta-love, and isn't this a lot more realistic? we have a 19-year-old boy ruled by his hormones, and as they grow up he starts noticing all the other things he loves about ElleI was going to give it 3 stars, but I knocked half a star down because their lack of communication towards the end of the book was getting ridiculous and it kind of got to my nerves. I'm going to keep this short...
This wasn't my favorite Claire Contreras book. I had some issues with the flow of the book (it felt disjointed to me), the plot (late 20s and hiding your relationship from your brother) and the characters (wishy-washy, immature, inconsistent).
On a brighter note, this book is well written and even with all my issues, I still finished it and liked some parts of it very much.
I have decided to continue in this series because Paper Hearts is about Mia and Jensen (seems like there may be a pretty good story there) and because it has really great reviews.
2.5 stars.
