A stunning conclusion to a duology. I love it when authors do not drag out a series! Hashem delivered the most romantic upper YA pairing to date. From enemies to lovers, the tension and yearning. The deliciousness of “only-you-can-kill-me-once-I-become-a-harbinger-of-destruction” type but the male character replied:
“There is no if you survive. There is no future where it is my hand that ends your life.” This close, I could make out the austere lines of anguish twining around his rage. “If your magic takes you, I will drag you back. It cannot have you.”
Only the real lover girls will understand!
In all seriousness, it’s always fantastic to meet an author that can write beautifully with a strong unique plot to back it up. I also cannot rave enough about the characters and dynamics, found family is my favorite trope after all. I also saw someone call the ending Clockwork Prince esque. Expected bittersweet but still rewarding.

I am completely shattered and wiping tears right now, this story broke me in the best way possible and it will stay with me for a long time. I wish the ending was a bit different but still I enjoyed this journey immensely

I NEEDED MORE OF ARIN AND ESSIYA TOGETHER!!! It was a must after going through all of that, for us to get scenes of them domestic together. Heartbreaking how Arin kept waiting at the bridge for 10 years until Essiya's return, he was such a fool in love ughhhhh. And the sesame wrapped candies...........I need a novella of them!!
