Archer sprung forward, dropping his booted feet to the floor. Before Mac could even guess at his motives, he’d spun himself around so that his head was now in Mac’s lap, his feet kicked up on the wall of the plane.
“What are you doing?” Mac asked, amused.
“I thought we were talking,” Archer said.
“This way you can talk and rub my temples at the same time. I don’t know if you know this, but I’m a bit of a lightweight when it comes to booze.”
Okay I have so many thoughts and no idea how to write them.
I don't really like that Archer pretended to be an alcoholic to his family, Noah was 100000% in the right to be mad at Archer for that one.
I actually really liked Mac and Archer as a couple, I just know now there's 2 series following this one now, with Jericho's boys(super excited for this one), and now the academy one(i don't know the name).
I think I can tell that Onley is ready to move on to the other series, so I'm nervous for Adien's book... It's been so hyped for all the books, and now... I think i'll be disappointed with it.

This series just gets better and better. The plot was good, the dynamic between Mac and Archer was too good. And Grover! Haha I didn't think it was possible to laugh that hard during a book. Kind of sad I only have one more to get through!

Call me crazy, call me captivated, call me obsessed, it doesn’t matter because whatever you call me I am 100% forevermore a Mulvaney. Fight me for it. I am beyond in love with this family, their SOs and the karma they leave on this world.
“‘You’re mine, Katniss. You hear me? I’m not … going anywhere. And neither are you. We’re in this for life. If you run, I’ll … find you. I need you to know that.’”
Gah!!!! I don’t know how they keep doing it—well I do and I don’t want it to stop, ever—Archer and Mac are perfect—swoonily, sexily, dangerously, breathtakingly perfect. I loved everything about these two and getting to know the real Archer and all of his sides was sublime. I loved how he could hold nothing back from Mac and even more how Mac wouldn’t let him. They’re explosive and so romantic, my heart is bursting with love. I cannot wait for Maniac but while I do, I’ll just re-read for the thousandth time all the amazing, fantastic, incredible Mulvaneys, until I can hold them all in my greedy, greedy hands.

Ohmigoodness the bad guys (the actual bad guys not the psychos) were just exceptionally disgusting in this one. I loved seeing the real Archer. Mac is delicious. The whole dang family is so lovable.
I just can’t get enough of all the Mulvaney’s! Archer is known as the drunk of the family who gambles for a living. He of course is also a vigilante like all his adoptive siblings but he has secrets that none of the others know about. Archer is not who he seems and is working for his father on a project that the other Mulvaney’s don’t know about. He is working with a team that includes Mac. Mac is a vet and his mother is a doctor who works closely with Thomas Mulvaney. He is smitten with Archer and loves to push his buttons. With the two of them working together Archer is having a difficult time acting like he doesn’t want Mac. When they find out Mac has a hit out on him it is all hands on deck with the Mulvaney’s. I really loved how resistant Archer was to Mac even though it was not believable. The fact that he was able to take his mask off and be himself with Mac was great. When he finally gave in and excepted the feeling he had it was such an awesome moment. Mac loves pushing Archer because he know he loves it. Mac gets to see the real Archer and ends up unexpectedly becoming part of the family.

Archers Secrets
Same rating as the last one, but for different reasons. Objectively, this one had one of the best stories, especially since the family was more present. I have nothing to really complain about, also, in terms of the love story. It just wasn't a big highlight. I was way more interested in Archer than in Mac.
Well, up until now, we didn't really know much about Archer, but turns out there was a reason for that (no spoilers here, but it wasn't like the biggest secret, still interesting). The story starts with Archer and Mac, son of Molly Shepherd, who inspired Thomas project, already having some sort of a casual hook-up thing. Now, they have to act as leaders of a certain project together, while Mac also has some hitmen on his ass.
The project isn't really that important in the story (and was really confusing at the beginning) and felt more like a way to get those two together. They have a similar dynamic as Atticus and Jericho at the start, with Archer not wanting to admit how much he likes what Mac is doing to him, even though it is obvious, and he always follows his flirtation. Of course, as always, it doesn't take long until they really get together (after one conversation with Noah Archer knows what he wants lol), but I think the way it was done was fitting, and they weren't too obsessed with each other (aka it wasn't cringy to me like with some other couples 😅). Also, since Mac was in on the whole project and has a sociopath brother, there wasn't much explanation necessary. The only thing that gave me the ick was Macs nickname for Archer: Katniss 😬 Gave me flashbacks to Zane aka Lois Lane. WHY can't they just use their actual names! If it was just a few times, ok, but I think he never called him Archer (that's also such a nice name imo) 🥲
All in all, I liked the couple, just felt a bit too similar to others, which is a general problem of the series. No wonder with 7 books on the topic. But I loved that it was more about the family again and even left us with a cliffhanger for the next volume that will be about Aiden and Thomas. Apparently, more the later one since his past just got dug up. I am also curious how Aiden got into the family and when things started with Thomas. The volumes before already gave so many hints. This is the most anticipated volume for me, and I really hope it doesn't disappoint 😅

May 2023. Book 6 in the MM romance thriller series about a family of psychopaths who kill evil serial killers a La “Dexter,” but also they are all adopted and gay and hot and fall in love with other gay hot people.
Liked this one quite a bit, though not my favorite in the series. Struggled a bit for working to set up a future spin-off series as well as including the obligatory cameos by all the previous couples, but still a successful guilty pleasure. The main character of this one, Archer, is featured less in the previous books than some others so I didn’t go in with many expectations or preconceived notions and was pleasantly surprised. I felt it was too heavy on the steamy scenes.
Really enjoyed his (platonic) relationship with friend/brother-in-law Noah.
Got the audiobook 1/2 by downloading it on kindle unlimited first. Narrator Liam Dicosimo always does a fantastic job and I find myself rounding ratings up when he narrates.
“Lunatic” by Onley James. Book 6/7 in the Necessary Evils series.

This book was really disappointing. Who would have thought that the brother that has always been described as a drunken pirate gambler would turn out to be the most dull and vanilla of them all? I hope the last book makes up for it.
