This book wasn't quite as good as the others in the series. It took me a little more to really get into it. I really hated the Katniss endearment and cringed every time it came up.
I think it’s safe to say that Asher is the most emotional of all the psychopaths. The process of Asher trying to understand those emotions without fully knowing how to interpret them in the first place just always but tears to my eyes

Each of the Mulvaney men have this secret personality that they hide from their family and when it comes out it just breaks you down. Archer and his drunken persona fit well with the family but Mac never gave him the option to be that person. Like each of the previous love interests, Mac brought out a completely different person who you can't help but love. This series is everything as is this book. Highly recommended.

Archer and Mac were not at all what I was expecting, they were so much more. I always assumed the Archer in the previous books wasn’t really the real Archer, like we were missing something. And damn, the real Archer has so many layers. I love it.
Once again, the actual story, the plot, the mystery had me hooked. Another group of absolute scum need to be put down, but who are they and what are they doing? Of course, like the rest of the series this includes a lot of gore, blood and torture. And definitely some “what the f*ck” moments.
While Mac and Archer are very different, you know, ones a psychopath, they’re also alike in someways too. Being with somebody, trusting somebody else, those are new to both of them. Archer showed a lot of emotions and I loved it

I was dreading this one because you can only watch the main character fall over drunk so much and I was thrilled to see how the alcoholism was retconned into a better story. I haven't read the spinoff that this series referenced so I did feel like I was missing some things but I appreciated the relationship that Mac and Archer had. Hookups to accidental husbands is such a vibe.
I liked that once they agreed the marriage would stand, all of their nonsense went away. Archer has a hard time communicating his feelings because they're new and Mac generally met him where he was to work through things. He desperately wanted a family to fit into and by the end of the book, he was playing tick-tack-toe with Felix during an interrogation.
This means that only Aiden and Thomas are left. Give them to me immediately. I've been teased about this book for the entire series so far. I'm ok if it's 600 pages.
