Well some parts of it I figured before they came out and others I was pleasantly surprised by. I am happy that I read it at least

Madeline is so wildly unlikeable I’m so sorry
Booked For Murder is a cozy mystery set in a small town Bookshop inherited by the main character, Madeline. True to most mystery novels, Madeline takes it up on herself to try to solve the case of a customer that is killed in her shop. She takes risks and fumbles around with her ever-changing understanding of the people in the small town she grew up in with her Aunt.
Madeline is a stage performer and her life has mostly been spent moving wherever her career in the arts has taken her. She is trying hard to resist forces that are trying to get her to finally settle down and put down roots. Although predictable in parts, it kept me interested and I would definitely read more by the author!

Booked for Murder is a cute, cozy mystery set in a small town with the main part of the story being set in a bookstore. I love that the bookstore is in an house and really has no organization of the books. In my mind I could see myself wandering the shelves and seeing a historical fiction book next to a self-help book with an autobiography next to that. I love it!
The characters were quirky and fun. I felt like they were a little flat, and needed a little more spunk and dimension. The characters seemed to repeat themselves and not show much excitement at their lives. I would have liked to know more about the history of the characters. A few of the secondary characters were mentioned, stories were started but not finished.
The setting and the story held much potential but it just did not do it for me.

This is an atmospheric mystery set in a small town in Georgia with a sizeable cast of characters. I felt that some of the subplots weren't super necessary to the overall storyline, making the story feel slow. The formula was fairly predictable and I kept waiting for a twist to shake things up.
