4.75 ⭐️ RYAN SHAY ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? I’m son in love with him. And Indy is fucking hilarious and represents the hopeless romantic book girlies! This book was so good and I’m so excited to continue this series bc I feel like Kai Rhodes may end up being my favorite. I mean a single dad that wears glasses? SIGN ME UP! If the first three months of the year are any indication I think I’ll continue to have a hell of a reading year with all of these great books!

"I want her here, I want her to want to be here."
"She giggles and it's my favorite sound."
"I want you to choose me. I know I don't have your history but I want your future."

This was too cute, I listened to the audio and enjoyed it a lot. The voice narrators did their thing! Ryan and Indy's story was adorable. I absolutely loved getting to know Ryan's character more and to get to see his vulnerable side as well, he is truly the teddy bear I thought he would be. Ryan and Indy's connection felt instant from their own pov's but I like from the outside it was a slow burn. The feelings and care they shared for one another through words of affirmation, quality time, and acts of service was stellar. I liked that at some points their miscommunication with words sometimes halted the truth of their feelings to come out, however their acts of service always saved the day for them to come back together stronger than ever.

Where do I begin???

Ryan Shay is an acts of service KING!
- He bought her a bed with lavendar sheets because it's her favorite color.
- She loves flowers but because she travels for work, she can't take care of them so he offers to water them for her
- He gives her his credit card so she has something new to wear to an event
- He makes her coffee every morning and puts it in the fridge so it doesn't get watered down when she adds ice
- She's a vegetarian so he replaces all of his meat products with vegetarian substitutes

This man is so selfless and doting and does not let her settle for less than she deserves in any aspect and helps her stand up for what she wants. I loved them together and I'm so stoked for the next book!

“sometimes the quietest love is the loudest.”

RYAN SHAY. RYAN FREAKING SHAY. Why is he literally the best MMC I have ever read?? Right from the point he bought her a bed with the sheets of her favorite color, l loved him. His actions just kept getting better and better as the story progressed.
Every time I thought I couldn't love him any more, he proved me wrong. But the part where it was revealed that he was learning ASL to communicate with her father?? The moment he got his sign name I cried! As a deaf women I loved the representation of a deaf character and the use is asl! The way the signs were described were perfect!! Also the fact that he paid for her fertility treatments right after knowing what she was saving the money for And he bought a house for them right after they got together!!  I felt soo giddy over him that, sometimes, I actually had to pause in between to take breathes and adjust to the things I felt lol.

related so much with Indy about her people pleasing habits and some other things (most things actually except her love for hosting and being such an extrovert), so maybe that made this book stand out even more to me.
I loved how Indy's heartbreak was portrayed as well. Too often I see the scenario of the heroine being cheated on by a long term boyfriend and it's always so cliched and glossed over. I understand the need to focus on the current romance but humans are not robots, there isn't a reset button and we do carry our past with us even if we heal from it. I liked her progression of getting over the ex. I liked that she still suffered from the betrayal but day by day she blossomed more and more and eventually got to have so many realisations about herself, her friends, her ex relationship and she saw her heartbreak as blessing in disguise.
book could've been 100 pages less tho, the pacing was slightly off because the ending felt like it should've been around the 80% mark; the last 20% unnecessarily dragged on for WAY too long the conflict was so pointless and could've been skipped bc the reader wouldn't miss anything.
