3.5 ⭐️ I’m about to be in the minority here buuuut Zanders/Stevie >>> Ryan/Indy

What I liked:
Apparently this is another unpopular opinion but I love Indy. She reminds me so much of me (so maybe I’m the problem). I love that she wasn’t afraid to show emotions and cried all the time (me too girl). I loooove her and Rio’s friendship and I’m so excited for his book. I liked the theme of love not having to be loud and that the small things matter too. The banter was really good.

What I disliked:
I feel like almost 99% of Ryan and Indy’s conflict could’ve been solved if they would’ve just talked to each other instead of just making assumptions. I haaaaaate miscommunication tropes or anything similar where the main character just can’t communicate with each other like adults. Everyone loves Ryan but I wasn’t his biggest fan most of the time. Like with Mile High, I feel like this book could’ve been 100 pages shorter and the final conflict made me so irritated.

I enjoyed the characters in this book more than the previous. A soft spot for Ryan and Indy. Although, I just want to get into this series like everyone else! Maybe this just isn’t for me, but I refuse to GIVE UP. I will finish it! Maybe a small break before continuing, so that I go in with a clear head and no previous bias (maybe a small bias).

I definitely enjoyed this more than Mile High! I found the characters, conflicts, and overall narrative far more compelling, and it was impossible to root against Ryan and Indy. While I often get frustrated with the fake dating trope (you guys are completely alone, there's no way this intimacy is "for show"), I enjoyed the build up of tension between the two main characters!! Ryan's development especially throughout the book was great to see, and it was clear how Indy and Ryan brought out the best and happiest versions of eachother.

The Right Move by Liz Tomforde
⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Dual POV • Sports romance (basketball) • Fake dating • Forced proximity • Best friend’s brother • Found family • Cheating (not the MCs) • Fertility rep • Deaf & sign language rep • 499 pages

Although part of the "Windy City" series, this one can be read as a standalone. Just note—Ryan Shay (our MMC and elite basketball player) is Stevie’s brother. If you’ve read "Mile High", you’ll remember Indy (our FMC here) as a secondary character. Worth starting there if you want the full vibe!

Ryan Shay. OMG. Normally, I go for morally gray/feral MMCs, but Ryan? He is the walking green flag. The perfect mix of sweet, supportive, patient, and sexy. Honestly, Indy calls him the perfect book boyfriend—and I have to agree.

Indy herself was a joy to dive into. She’s funny, kind, a total carer (sometimes to a fault), and exactly the type of friend everyone deserves. Her background adds beautiful depth to her character, making her and Ryan feel real in every sense.

Both leads are flawed, layered, and full of heart. Add in emotional subplots with old friends, family dynamics, and sign language rep—and this romance hit harder than I expected.

As with the first book, it’s a little longer than it needed to be, but the balance of heartfelt romance and spice was perfect. It’s not fade-to-black; the intimacy is both emotional and physical, and woven beautifully into the story.

The ending wraps it up with a pretty bow (HEA, check ), while setting us up for the next installment—Baseball romance incoming!  Can’t wait to see where the series goes next.

I don’t even know where to begin…..
I sacrificed sleep two nights in a row to read about Indy & Ryan.

Ryan is now my ultimate book bf. I fear nobody can top him
