I struggled with my rating here because I feel four stars may not be enough but going higher doesn’t fit either. I loved so much about this book but it’s not one of my favorites although I can’t fully explain why, if that makes sense. I loved Indy’s character, she is bold, smart and strong and we love to see that in an FMC. And Ryan was the perfect contrast. He is this dreamy superstar who has guarded his personal life up so much that it was beyond adorable to see Indy crack through that shell. Although I loved their romance, it felt a bit insta-lovey and I think that’s why I feel the way I do about it. I know a slow burn can be annoying but I like to see the relationship build and in a lot of ways this one just “happened.” That being said though, there were a lot of bits that had me emotional and I still very much enjoyed the story as a whole.

true rating, 4.75, but obviously i can't do that here. so, just know this book deserves far more than a 4. anyways, i binged this entire series in two days. i am SAT.

i loved everything about this, to the point that i didn't want it to end. one example was the third act like... breakup? which i wouldn't even technically class this as, because they didn't truly break up. they just took a few days away from each other. but i think that's one of the things that i loved the most about this book. like don't get me wrong, i'll read a book with a bunch of pain and angst with a gut wrenching third act bc i know they'll eventually get a hea, but i was so emotionally invested in this book and that little reprieve was so nice for me. SO nice.

now, what i really loved the most about the book was ryan and indy. their story was so beautiful, it was so heartfelt, so touching. the fact that this man was celibate, by choice, because of how he was screwed over in the past just... that hit so hard for me. he was so guarded and scared, and i loved that. that's another thing that i really love about this series, that these grown, manliest of manliest men are not afraid to CRY and show emotion. i will never not eat that up. but then throw in indy, who is jaded and had just ended a 6 year relationship with a man she planned to marry? one she seemed endlessly happy with in the first book? and who has her eggs on a mf timer? i loved her. she was so bright, and bubbly, and she had her moments of course, but i felt her emotions so deeply. it was everything i could have wanted for them. like ryan was so afraid of opening himself up again and indy had SO much love to give...

the only reason i didn't give this 5 stars is because it just didn't have that 5 star feeling... like i loved it a lot, don't get me wrong, i just couldn't bring myself to give it that last little tick. but it was still endlessly amazing, and beautiful, and ryan and indy were my favorite couple at one point. truly incredible.

There's something about the way Liz Tomforde writes her MMCs that makes me romantic and lustful and the same time!
I've been so thrilled by the story of Indy and Ryan getting together and bringing out the best in each other. Their love story is so inspiring because it makes the reader reflect on their experiences, their needs, and also their boundaries.
I just love everything about this book!
