Liked this more than the Persephone pov book this time around because while Persephone was still annoying/frustrating in this we just got less of her. Plus I liked seeing what Hades had to do and see all the shady stuff the gods and demi gods were up to.

3.5. Definitely an improvement from A Touch of Ruin with Hades’ POV. Much more sense in the story with the all the plot with the gods and goddesses. Seph is still quite a lot to handle seeing the choices she makes from this side and would still like something closer to grief. but also Hades is just extra spiced up at any given moment and can take away from the devotion/plot/romance. However still more enjoyable and Hecate and Hermes still dominate any page they are on.

Tandem read

I struggled more to get into this than the first book. Loved getting more of the other gods, but the lack of communication between Hades and Persephone was annoying - speak to each other dammit! Knew the janitor was going to do something. I cried for Lexa though, that was heartbreaking. I enjoyed seeing more of Persephone’s power and am looking forward to how that continues, especially with the threat of war.

By the end of this book I was sobbing, there were so many times in this series where posephine annoyed me. But in the end, her growth was everything it needed to be.

Have a problem finishing books that don’t suck me in and this one began feeling like a chore to finish, even though I have loved the others.
