At first I wanted to give this a 3,5, but now I don’t anymore. Idk ahahaha

Honestly, I did not enjoy this (and Seph’s version of this one) as much as the first ones, but I still (and will always) love both of them dearly and I ADORE Scarlett’s writing style. I also did enjoy this more towards the end tbh

As I have mentioned in Seph’s version already, she was annoying in this one - it was understandable in a way and Hades probably could have communicated a bit better sometimes, but I did find myself siding with him the entire time. And not because this is his POV, it was the same thing reading hers. And now, knowing all the shit he was going through this entire time, I really wished that Seph would have cared a bit more about him and his problems (at least in part 1 or something, you know?)
I know, what happens to her is extremely heavy and devastating, she IS grieving, that is a time where you are not going to be yourself and it is unimaginably difficult, but still, it kinda irks me that she never asks him if he is okay or if he’s struggling. He is indeed extremely secretive, but still. That’s why I almost exploded when she DID in fact ask him if he is well towards the end - exactly the way he always asks her. My GOD i love these two

I love them both so much and I love that they make me feel so many things T_T

I have to say, even though A LOT happens in this one, I still wasn’t completely invested but I can’t quite put my finger on as to why.
It took longer than normal for me to read this one, and it felt a bit laborious, which is strange, because I loved the world building and how much deeper it got with the mythology and all the characters and how beautifully complex everything is, in an extremely good way.

The world building and storytelling is so well done, everything is so nicely woven together, I just love it so much.

Also: I LOVE reading the author’s note at the end, every single time. I just love Scarlett’s personal insights and reading her thoughts and everything she gives us. She really does keep on giving

I was also completely shocked to see that we got a sneak peek into a touch of CHAOS??? you mean, as in THE LAST BOOK OF THIS SERIES??? When we haven’t even gotten all of part 3??? I hath scremed the biggest scrome to ever been scrumpt (jk, but it was close)

On another note, here are some quotes I wrote down, because I just love Hades and Seph and how he expresses himself and the way they love each other and express it and everything about them, honestly:

„And the only thing I regret is that I have lived so long without you.”

„,Are you saying you wouldn’t fight for me?’ He wouldn’t just fight. He would dismantle the world, and he would only feel remorse for Persephone, who would grieve for humanity.”

“It was how he knew he could end worlds for her.”

„I will forever regret my anger. How could I ever question your love? Your trust? Your word? When you have my heart.”

„I have never loved anyone as I love you. I can’t put it into words - there are none that come close to expressing how I feel.”

“There are few truths in this world,” he said, “ but the one you must always remember is that I love you.”

“It was moments like this when he realized that his heart no longer belonged to him.”

“As he looked down at the floor, he recalled the first time he had seen Persephone. If she had existed during the Trojan War, it would have been her beauty that had launched a thousand ships.“

“I do want to fuck you. More importantly, I love you - deeply, endlessly. If you walked away from me today, I would love you still. I will love you forever.”

[Ich LIEEEBE es wie er sie immer fragt “Are you well?” UGH]

"’Help me forget what I saw in the forest,’ she begged. ‘Kiss me. Love me. Ruin me.’"

"’No,’ she said. ‘I love you.’ Those words flooded him with a sense of relief. He had said before that words held no meaning, but that was before Persephone had uttered those three.”

“Hades's gaze slid to Hermes, who still lingered in the room. When their eyes met, he knew they had both reached an understanding about what had occurred here.
Demeter was no longer Persephone's family. They were, and they would do anything to protect her, to give her what she never had - even in the face of war.”

“But he had known then that she was his forever.”
