I still enjoy these from time to time. A very good book for kids interested in Anne Frank.

I love anything about Anne Frank. This was a great read for young kids. It's a 3.0 reading level. I can't wait to teach this lesson

I don't really remember this book. I read it in 1st grade for a project.

This book covered the life of Anne Frank and her family and the lead up to their stay in the Secret Annex. However, their life in their hiding place was only one chapter of about 11 pages of large print and widely spaced text. The chapter with their capture was very short with a half page telling about how one of the family’s helpers hid Anne Frank’s diary and papers, two sentences about the Annex’s residents’ separation at the train, and 3 sentences about the death camp including this:
“Survivors say it is impossible to describe how awful it was.”
Anne dies three short sentences later. This seems like such a bland retelling of a horrific time in history. Two pages were dedicated to the famous people Anne had pictures of. There was one page about Churchill and Roosevelt. There were many map illustrations that my son liked. I would have liked more detail and more feeling in the retelling.

I am currently reading this book out loud to my 5th grade students for our nonfiction unit and they are loving it. Prior to beginning, they didn’t know a whole lot about WWII so it’s cool to hear all their questions and it’s interesting to see their shock. This book does an excellent job of explaining Anne Frank to a young audience.

I read this to my kids, as we started discussing WWII, especially in light of current events. They wanted to listen to the whole thing in one night! This book is age appropriate and easy to understand. They were able to make several connections to current leaders all on their own. Quite chilling to be honest!

A quick biography about Anne Frank for young readers. This book isn't as complete as some other sources, but it does cover the general information about who Anne was. However, this isn't a favorite resource of mine seeing that many books and movies have been made about Anne that I feel are more memorable and personable than this one.

I read this with my 7 year-old daughter. I read Anne’s diary in school many years ago. I broke down crying at the end, and my sweet girl gave me a big hug and held it while I finished the last few pages with tears streaming down my face.

We have other books in this series, and I thought this one was very well done, aimed at school aged children. I look forward to reading the others with my daughter as well.

This was a great book!! I read it for a book report. It was one of those books where you want to find out what happens in the end, but you don't ever want to finish it.
