I had to dnf at least three books before being able to find this masterpiece. What makes this story different from the first three that I tried to read is its narration (vivid descriptions and perfectly written prose.)
"Art worked best when you were uncomfortably honest. When what you said would ruffle some feathers." Exactly. The way this fictional story addresses various non-fictional issues piqued my interest. I admire artists and/or writers who are using their platforms to creatively express their stance. Brave are those who are not afraid to let the whole world see their creative works in its rawest form. This book courageously talks about queerness, colonization, loss of cultural identity and the hypocrisy of human beings. It explores the complexity of love and the things you are willing to compromise in the name of it.
My whole being is scattered in every bits and pieces of each character in this book. Their flaws, imperfections and dark sides make them all the more relatable.
Allured by its short chapters, I just want to keep on reading, but college (sinabayan pa ng midterms exams) being the worst villain ever forbade me to do so.

My hopes were high for Island Time by Georgia Clark. I mean: The cover! The setting! The representation! And I liked it, I really did, but it needs to be about 100 pages shorter.
That said, the book is about two families that get stuck on an island together. There’s romance, yes, but I’d say it’s more a family drama or family saga. The characters are human and complex, and it was great getting to know them and witness their growth.
Pick this book up if you’re seeking a story about family and friendship, heartbreak and love, but be mindful that you’ll have to wade through a lot of extra to get to the heart of the story.
ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

With so many characters, there was much more family drama than I initially anticipated when I read the summary. And unfortunately the characters I enjoyed the most were not the main focus of the book. It was enjoyable to read, but I didn’t love it. Toward the end, I was just reading to finish it. The fathers were my favorite part of the book. Their bromance was great to read and I would probably read an entire book about them if I could. The way the descriptions of the island and surroundings connected to the characters’ feelings and situations was very interesting. Unfortunately, I didn’t connect to the humor all that much or the queer romance which made me disappointed because I was really looking forward to it. And eventually, the drama just made me sigh in slight frustration. Maybe because I’m not a fan of miscommunication or lack of communication. Overall, I would probably round up to 3.5 stars out of 5.

An excellent read, but I can't describe too much without spoilers! Contains love and heartbreak, family drama, unexpected friendships, and gorgeous descriptions of Australian island beauty that will make you feel like you are there! A few characters you will love, a few who will drive you crazy - just like your own family

For me, this read more like lit fic than a romance — which is fine, but wasn’t really what I was in the mood for. I also had a bit of a hard time deciding whether the whole family was infuriating/obnoxious or if they had enough charm to keep me rooting for them.

This was not at all what I had been expecting to read. When I read the synopsis I thought it was going to be a typical cute romance with a little bump in the road and then they keep going. This book way very heavy with almost every single character having a life crisis of some kind (except Randall who was just living his best life; good for him). Not a bad book at all, fun, funny and definitely some real world problems. Not what I expected, but not bad either!

This book is a fun island escape with lots of entertainment, heartwarming moments and Liane Moriarty vibes. I will say there were a few parts that I had a harder time buying into, but I know many people will love this story.
What I enjoyed:
-This book was the perfect mix of romance, drama and domestic fiction
-How Clark gives us glimpses of relationships in all different stages and sheds light on the problems that may occur. It all felt very realistic.
-I love when books are told through POVs of 5+ characters
-The Australian island setting. I loved the vivid descriptions and learning about the island’s inhabitants.
-The queer representation was great. There was alot of openness and acceptance in the story.
What wasn’t for me:
-The natural disaster plot was hard to buy into. I was confused how after such a severe storm they had wifi and electricity right away on the island
-The story felt a little too long. The beginning started off strong but in the middle it dragged a bit I
-I sadly found one main character, Amelia, unlikeable and hard to connect with.

This one was insanely good and cute. Some good romance, some friendship, and some family stories all tied into one. A really well done story about the intricacies of all those. Also a journey of exploring one’s self. All the characters are questioning some element of themself and they all work to figure out those answers themselves and with the help of others.
This one got me in the feels hard. I’d be lying if I said my eyes were dry the whole time….

Bought this to read on holiday, bit of a chick lit book (not my kind of genre) but better in my opinion, the animals and nature make it more interesting, also enjoyed it as I recently went to Australia, doubt I'll read again but worth a read.
