I loved this! The world was immersive and unique. The sand magic so cool and as always i loved the characters- i hope we get more of Kenton and Khriss!
for here, in the empire of the white sand, the sun never sets.
Much, much better in prose form.

This was a really fun short story and gets me excited to read the full graphic novel that this is part of!

Considering the fact that this was Sanderson's first attempt at writing a full novel, this was actually really good.
Obviously, because this is an unpublished story, there are a lot of edits that could have been made, as well as plot improvements that would have been made by him had this been written in 2024.
Overall, I enjoyed the story quite a bit. I'm kind of bummed that we don't get to see the final product of this storyline in novel form. But I understand why he would want to move on from this. I will be purchasing the graphic novels. I just don't know when.

I am really glad I got to read the unpublished version of White Sand in the novel format, even though I now know the concept of the story, I will gladly read the graphic novel that has been published and listen to audiobooks to gain full idea of what this world entails.
The only thing I’ll remark is about the published Prologue and Chapter 1 (Arcanum Unhounded), Kenton is amazing and action sequences are just perfect, and I’ll gladly await a full novel publication in the future!

this one caught me by surprise !! wasn't expecting much because it's like never talked about but i thought the world and magic system were really cool; there are loose threads and it definitely needs polishing but like,, it's unpublished, and as long as you keep that + the fact it's one of his earliest pieces in mind i think it goes pretty hard (definitely liked this a lot more than elantris, i can tell you that lol)
