Rounded down. I really liked this book, even though it wasn't nearly as hilarious as book one. Don't get me wrong ; there is still crack and lols and shenanigans, but things are more serious, more ominous and dark and threatening. The villains are no longer silly and ridiculous. Shit is getting real. Klune does the impending darkness and heartbreak as well as he does the crack, though, so there's that. Sometimes it doesn't quite mesh, though, as if the book can't quite make up its mind about what kind of story it wants to be. It's still a good book, and I will definitely continue with the series. It just didn't bring the same unadulterated joy to my heart as The Lightning-Struck Heart did.
1. The Lightning-Struck Heart ★★★★.5
2. A Destiny of Dragons ★★★★

That time T.J gave me my favorite character. or you know, a ADoD review that mentions Tiggy a lot because brooms.
Reading this book was like visiting your friends that you love but live in different states and when you see each other yo are so excited that you can't stop smiling.
I loved every line in this book, there is not a single thing that I would change.
Sam has a destiny, he needs to make a decision about what he is going to do about that destiny (even if he hates we call it a destiny and might punch someone in the kidney if he keeps hearing that word). Sam learns the truth about a secret, a secret that involves him and might affect the way he sees his world. And of course, Sam, Gary, Tiggy, Kevin and knight delicious face are going to go on an adventure, like in the hobbit but you know, with more sex talk involved.
I loved how this story progressed, I don't know about other people but I am the type of persons that is always trying to guess what's gonna happen next, in this story I didn't, first I dind't expect the turn things were going to take and second you really can't think of anything else while reading because the story absorbs you.
The book it's still funny and it has hilarious moments but this time around there is a more serious undertone, there are such beautiful scenes not just with the main group but with other characters that warm your heart and make you tear up and at the same time you want to kick T.J in the shin because why are you messing with our feelings?
I love every character, Sam has a story that is honestly very complicated, he has secrets and decisions to make that are really hard. Ryan is there to support Sam and love him and be all dashing and inmaculate as usual. Gary is still our gary, he is a beautiful sassy bitch that is going to cut someone if they mess with him or his friends. Kevin gives us some very beautiful scenes in this one, don't get me wrong, he is still very creepy with his sex comments but in here you see another side of him and realize that there is still a lot we don't know about him and maybe he is more wise than you expect.
Then there's my precious baby Tiggy!!!! yes he has his own paragraph because I love him and I need to talk about him. When I read TLSH I loved Tiggy but in this book I think he just became my favorire TJ character, and that's saying a lot because I would kill for Bear.
Tiggy is such an amazing character, we know so little about him but every time his story is mentioned you know something awful happened and you just wanna protect him and hug him and for the love of Gary someone give this precious baby a broom! He was just amazing in this book. I need a Tiggy in my life. He is so cute and smarter than people think, there were so many times that he made comments and I was like yup, you are right Tigs.
The Sam/Gary/Tiggy friendship is so beautiful, I can't wait to read what Tj does with Gary and Tiggy and Kevin.. and Zero.. AND JUSTIN!
I know something bad is going to happen in the next 2 books because TJ likes kicking us in the feels but I swear if he kills my Tiggy I'm going to go on a unicorn rage and bathe in his blood (not really, I live on the other side of the world, but I might send him a curse, something like that he always lose a sock from each pair he buys) I am that serious about my love for that lovable cute giant. He needs a house full of brooms and you know maybe a family and lots of hugs.
There are some new characters, some are going to surprise you, some intrigue you and some you are going to hate. Not going to say more about those because spoilers but trust me, EVERYTHING, even the bad things are awesome.
I mentioned Zero before and when you meet him you are going to love him too, he is such a great addition to the story, his emo ass and teenage angst was hilarious but at the same time he gave us a little glimpse about magic and if he is only the first dragon (technically second but we don't know yet what Kevin can do) imagine what other dragon are like!
Oh and let's not forget Sam's arch enemy, she's around and might create some trouble for Sam so I can't wait to see how that is going to get resolved.
In short, our friends are awesome, they are going to face a lot of trouble and they are going to resolve it with magic and lot of sex banter, and that is only the beginning of the Destiny Fuck Yeah! trilogy.

Pretty much the same comments as the previous book. I like that characters differentiate now, as previously they all seemed to have the same personality. Still completely lacking of women characters. The woman they added seems a villain, though it's hard to tell at the moment.
Was a bit too long.

So EPIC™!
I'm so glad the author didn't take the same route as in Book 1, because if he did, I think it would've been too much. The Lightning-Struck Heart is hilarious and there's so much UST. Here in Book 2 the humor is still very much present, but there's also so much action (which is awesome) and Sam's life finally has a purpose (or let's call it destiny), thus the story has a direction, not that it didn't have one before, but I feel like Book 1 was all about Sam and his love interest, Knight Commander Ryan Foxheart; while this book is so much more than that (some would say: there's so much plot). :D
So far this series exceeded my expectations, can't wait to read more! Highly recommended!!! :)

Y Sam... Sam
