I tend not to be drawn to thrillers, crime or mystery type novels. But I did enjoy this. Did I find it a challenging or stimulating read compared with what I normally go for? No. Did the easy of the story and prose whisk me along whilst trying to piece together the mystery? Yes. Did I guess the end long before the ending? Also yes.

I don't remember why I acquired this novel. But it was enjoyable.

I enjoyed this book although I wish that some things had been cleared up a little more at the end. I still felt there were a few missing pieces. The whole book was so detailed and kept you guessing at every minute that I wanted the ending to be the same. I enjoyed the characters though and I thought the plot was very interesting.

I could not figure this one out. It follows Tess a girl in her twenties whose stepmother is dying and her father asks her to come back to her childhood home to say goodbye. But the problem with that is there are things that Tess doesn't remember about that night. The night that her sister died. Bella was a pretty one and a little older than Tess. 10 years ago their dad Leo was getting ready to get married to Julia. The woman from down the street whose little girl died and her two sons were not nice to Tess. Greg, the ex-husband of Julia has a lot of rumors. None of them good circulating around his name. There were a lot of things that happened in the woods and sometimes there's things you say that you can't take back. Does she really have amnesia or has she suppressed all of these memories because they're too much to remember? What really happened to Bella that night? And what really happened to Greg the neighbor?

2.5 stars. It would've been a better story if it was shortened a bit. It seemed to keep rehashing the same issues several times in order to draw it out.

This book is definitely NOT a thriller. More like a family drama/mystery. Often times this book became fairly repetitive and drawn out. There was one twist that caught me by surprise, but the rest of the book I pretty much figured out and only saw it through to see if I was correct. I really enjoyed the first authors book and sad this was a disappointment.

There were some climaxes where I was absolutely floored by the writing. So much of the narrative pushed forward in two pages I was stunned. Yet the sheer number of characters with their own demons made it difficult to stay in line until the end. It all felt like too much and not enough of a resolution
