Pinocchio has done nothing wrong and neither Geppetto nor the fairy deserve him for trying to turn him into this meritocratic wet dream of an always obedient, hard-working little boy. I'd encourage any child to make their mistakes, challenge the system and enjoy their silly little games, not despite, but especially because of this story. I'd take a little anarchy and chaos over a child being denied food and water because he doesn't work (??;!?!?) any day.

Book of the Mouse Club Podcast - February 2025 Selection. Wow, I absolutely hated this book. I guess subscribe or follow the podcast for some incoming hot takes, but there was nothing redeeming about the character of Pinocchio. This story was repetitive, and I was just so annoyed by him.

I fucking hate Pinocchio. I can’t freaking stand it. I hated it when I was a child and I had to read it for my Children’s literature exam. I’m happy because I don’t have to read it again.

First time I read the original story of Pinocchio. It is darker than the Disney version for sure, but still funny. Pinocchio is so clumsy and candid, he learns life lessons by escaping death many times. 
The story is interesting in all its parts, and lighthearted.
