Look, I've been adding a lot of these books to my "read" shelf lately, it's cause 2 wonderful comic creators are doing a weekly podcast about these books. I don't feel like I want to really leave a review for these, I'm just reading these for fun and nostalgia... That said, I have to remark that re-reading this was miserable, this reads like some sort of "D-Grade" fan-fiction. I know these books aren't classics of literature but damn, this book is just terrible.

This is the first book in my adult re-read that I didn't read as a middle-schooler. Apparently, I didn't have the chance to get my hands on the jumbo special editions. This was pretty cool though, the jumping around from POV to POV of every character (even Ax!) was fun and the action was plentiful. Rachel's amnesia is cheesy, but I expect plenty of cheese in these books. Overall it was a fun little side quest.

1) The Invasion ★★★★
2) The Visitor ★★★★★
3) The Encounter ★★★★★
4) The Message ★★★★★
5) The Predator ★★★★★
6) The Capture ★★★★★
7) The Stranger ★★★★★
3.5/5
I'm aware that my rating is probably too high and that even a 3/5 would be generous, but I had too much fun reading this to give it a negative rating even if it's easily the weakest of the series thus far. I know that something a lot of people don't like about this book is Rachel getting amnesia, which I do think is a stupid storyline but I actually quite like the conclusion of it, especially with Cassie's observation of how much getting amnesia scared Rachel because it was a threat that came from within herself, something which is obviously incredibly important to Rachel's character going forward. Tobias does deserve better, though.

Full of action but not enough character stuff, for me. Cassie rules, though, also Rachel and Tobias.
I liked the shifting POVs in this one, but I felt the pacing was a bit too tight bc of it.
I'm not exactly sure what makes this a "megamorph" story, other than the fact that its a bit longer and all the animorphs take turns narrating. The story could have been told in just one perspective as a normal edition to the series.
That being said, still really enjoyed it!
