As a hyper-independent, perfectionist scientist with ADHD/depression and neurodivergent loved ones - this book slaps!! However, objectively, the advanced scientific metaphors are inaccessible to most, and written with anecdotes from a single source while promoting the idea of diversity weakens the messages imo. Supplementing with other viewpoints and more casual/relatable metaphors or simpler science would bring this book to 4-5 🌟

Despite the clinical-nature of the book, Dr. Pang takes a refreshingly compassionate approach to encourage more tolerance for flaws and failure, and to emphasize the message that perfection isn’t natural; let yourself be loved anyway 💕

Interesting perspective. Think I’d have enjoyed it more if I were more scientific.
