Loved: the in-depth look into another autistic person’s mind, especially looking into how that person’s special interest is the lens by which they comprehend the world. In a way, it was so relatable.

Didn’t love: the technical jargon, sort of? Like, the combination of the jargon and accented narration made it hard for me to one hundred percent focus and engage. Even then, I don’t fully dislike that, because it truly felt like another autistic person infodumping to me about a subject I’m not fully equipped to understand and me going hell yeah.

If you want to understand what it's like to get in the mind of a neurodiverse person, this is the book for you. Pang has authored an inspiring book that takes you inside her thinking process by explaining scientific concepts from bioinformatics to machine learning. Through these metaphors, she shows readers how she has managed to understand neurotypical habits and behaviors and adapt.

Enjoyed the unique premise, the book is certainly more about the author's experience with autism/adhd and her perspectives explained through science. But must admit, the idea would have worked better as one essay rather than a whole book.
