Now that I’ve re-read this book a few years later, I have a new perspective. I still really enjoyed it BUT it didn’t live up the plot and love I have for similar series like TOG. that said, it’s still and excellent book and I look forward to re-reading the next one!

I don’t know what was up with me and this book, but every time I picked it up to read, 5 mins later I was asleep. I wasn’t bored or anything, just asleep. Anyway, interesting premise, pretty good world building and kinda annoyed with the FMC - but that might be because I saw all the twists and turns coming? It just felt like she was doing too much when she should have been pausing and pausing when she should have been moving. I also thought it ended either too late or two early. Like I should have ended right after the bone place or kept going a bit past the escape at the river. But who am I? I’ll finish the series but I’m not rabid for the next one.

I was rereading this book, because I loved it when I was younger. Would definitely recommend this as ya as the plot is great, just the writing and main character annoys me sometimes.
