Was this good or was this bad? Did I enjoy it? Did I understand it? These are the questions.

I was extremely disappointed in this… really confusing and forgettable. I couldn’t tell you what it was about and I just finished.

It really is better going in blind on this one. Incredibly eerie, requires a fair amount of paying close attention. Ending wasn't my favorite.

I wanted to like this one so much more than I did; it has all of the elements that I normally enjoy, mystery, interwoven narratives and a little hint of the supernatural. However, it was a little too interwoven and meta, like several books within a book. It was difficult to follow and keep track of the characters.

The first half of the book: 5 stars
second half: HUH?

While I enjoy twisty, psychological books, this one was too convoluted for me. The writing was beautiful. It just felt like it didn’t entirely work.

More of a 2.5 rating. The beginning was so good I blazed through it and the end was a convoluted mess that didn’t stand up to the rest. Really looked forward to this after giving The Last House on Needless Street 5 stars, kinda dissatisfied.
