2.5 rounded to 3 - messy and weird. I think I would like this more as an on screen adaptation if done with a very deft hand. Very deft. The final twist had me and then lost me.

just had to sit there and blink when this one finished!!!
this was a total trip—the story changes so many times with perspectives and characters, but it all ends up making sense. it’s part coming-of-age, part mystery/thriller, but it finds a great balance between the two. i really enjoy this author and how they do the unexpected in entertaining ways.

I wanted to like this more, since I loved Last House on Needless Street, SO MUCH. But it just didn’t hit the same. Interesting concept but too many layers that left me confused at the end. I felt like I was only staying invested hoping there was a dramatic twist, so at least I wasn’t disappointed by that because there were a few!
I had a good time reading this book! I am also very confused

I'll be honest - I'm not sure all the various parts of this book line up correctly. And I don't really think it stuck the landing. But! I still really enjoyed it. I can only imagine it would make a terrible audiobook though.
