I loved Holly and Ivy's friendship. While I loved the romances and the different settings. Their friendship is the best relationship. This is a book I will pick up again next year. It's a Holiday Fun Read. I Highly Recommend!!!
Thank you to NetGalley and Julia McKay for an ARC Copy.

I am honestly surprised how much I enjoyed this book! Sometimes I feel like holiday books become too overly cheesy but this was the perfect amount of holiday cheese with some drama!
I absolutely adored Holly and Ivy’s friendship. This book has romance but the best love story is their friendship. This really feels like it could make for a great Hallmark movie…once you remove the little bit of spice. I’m rating the spice 1

3.5 I had a lot of fun with this. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting or what I was looking for, but I did have a lot of fun with it. I would definitely say it's The Holiday Lite.

Super cute and fun. This story is first and foremost about friendship but it’s a love story too (well, two love stories!).
Ivy and Holly are best friends. They meet in college because their boyfriends are friends. Ivy breaks up with the guy soon after and Holly stays with him until 8 years later when he leaves her the night before their wedding.
They’d do anything for each other, they even decide to switch vacations when Holly offers Ivy her honeymoon trip to Hawaii in exchange for Ivy’s trip to upstate New York.
When Holly arrives, she is shocked to run into her highschool rival. They were both the smartest, most dedicated students and always motivated each other by competing.
I liked this storyline for Holly. It’s so soon after her break up to be interested in someone else but he’s someone’s she already knew. Maybe it’s insta love but it has a history.
Meanwhile Ivy usually has flings. But she never has a vacation fling ever. When she goes on vacation it is with the goal of dedicating her time to creating art. The rest of the year she works as a graphic artist and it’s a good job to support herself but her art is what she loves.
She meets a guy when she arrives in Hawaii. He’s a bartender and a master of trades. The more she gets to know him the more interesting she finds him. She doesn’t want a fling, but she might want something more.
This book is light and fun, it was a super fast read. I also really enjoyed both settings, one town was super Christmassy and one tropical fun.
I loved that the most important relationship in this book is between the best friends.
I got to read an early ebook edition from NetGalley, thanks!

4.5 ⭐️ This one was cute! I loved all of the characters and the two settings were so fun. I also appreciated that it was mostly closed door, which I wasn’t expecting!

A cute holiday story - basically The Holiday as a book. I liked the friendship between Holly and Ivy, but I always struggle a little with insta love. I did appreciate that there wasn’t a third act breakup. And the side characters were great.
