Ooh, this was cute! It was such a light read with fun holiday charm, reminiscent of the rom-com The Holiday movie. Holly is jilted just days before her holiday wedding and in turn convinces her best friend, Ivy, to go solo on what was to be her honeymoon trip. Holly, in turn, vacations in the mountains of Ivy’s secluded cabin. Each woman unexpectedly finds the perfect man for them in the most heartwarming, sweetest of ways. I adored this closed-door romance where true friendship and loyalty also plays a major part in the plot.

Initially, the narration style was challenging for me, but I adjusted. A lot of the story was the writer telling rather than showing and there were info dumps throughout that felt awkward and rushed the story along too quickly.
The premise was promising, and I enjoyed the female friendship aspect of the story. That being said, both romantic relationships between Holly & Aiden and Ivy & Oliver developed too quickly and lacked depth.
Additionally, there were some inconsistencies in time zones between chapters that were difficult to overlook.
I really wish this was twice as long to give the story time to unfold. It just wasn't long enough for the author to accomplish what she wanted to.

This holiday romance was a cute palate cleanser after a series of emotionally heavy novels. I enjoyed getting to know the 2 central characters, best friends Holly and Ivy. I liked the respective locations where they took their separate 2 week “honeymoons” - the Hudson Valley and Kauai. I also enjoyed their conveniently placed single, handsome, and successful soulmates in those locations. Admittedly the reader does need to suspend disbelief and put aside some unnecessary drama at times. But overall this book was fast paced and predictable, in a sweet way. 3/5⭐️

Cheesy, as expected, but it’s the time of year for cheesy Christmas movies and books.
