Thank you so much to NetGalley and Putnam books for sending me an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!
2.5⭐️ I really wanted to love this because the premise had so much potential, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I loved the idea of best friends swapping vacations due to unexpected circumstances, but squeezing two romance stories into a 300-page book felt like too much. I’m not a huge fan of insta-love, and that’s exactly what happens with both Holly and Ivy, which probably made it harder for me to connect with the story. The epilogue also felt a bit off—kind of like the end of a sitcom where they quickly recap everything that just happened. While the premise of swapping Christmas vacations and falling in love is cute, I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if Holly and Ivy each had their own books. That way, we could get more character development, plot depth, and a stronger story overall.

ARC READ
Was a solid 4 book until the last chapters. The abrupt, unrealistic, and formulaic conclusion just dropped the ball for me.

Gosh what a bummer of a book hah. The set up with the two being best friends was prob my favorite part bc they were such great friends and I loved their friendship. However there was so little development of their individual romantic interests and relationships imo. Oliver was so bland and two dimensional, I felt absolutely zero chemistry. Aiden at least there is some back story? But also it was this very fast tracked fall in love that it wasn't believable for me. Neither relationship made me feel anything and I was bored.
