A good sequel. However not as light-hearted as the first book.

Just as amazing as the first book, and I simply cannot wait for the third. Jessica Townsend manages to expand both universe and plot in significant ways, while her story remains captivating from start to finish. I also love all the characters and their interactions, hope to see more of a lot of them in the future. Although some twists are predictable, it remains a hugely enjoyable ride!!

And as foretold by the gods; the Harry Potter vibes continue!
Was it even a surprise that this was another five star? Then again, the first one’s one of the best middle grades I’ve read to date! So “surprise” is probably more of a back-thought than anything else.
This Bad-Boy has it all! Child whisked away to another, better, world. Big bad guy with slightly racist undertones. Magical school. Two best friends, one laid back and fun, the other uptight and clever. Father figure. A lay-out that seems to be following the ‘new teacher every new year’ stereotype of our beloved Potter universe. And you know what? I am here for it.
This book is a continuation of Morrigan crows story, but does away with the trials and whisks her off the a grand magical school! Where new problems will arise. Here, she must battle intolerant teachers, make friendships, and find out what the mysterious market that she’s discovered may hold?
I loved the setting, I loved the conflict, I loved Morrigan. And even though the ending is predictable. And the characters can be traced, almost directly, back to characters from the inspiration; it doesn’t even bother me.
You should read this. Your mother should read this. Your uncle should read this.
Jupiter is Bae.
