I normally only comment on children's books if I find one so wonderful I want to recommend it to the world, or if I want to warn people off. But this is one of those books that's not in either camp. This is a sort of sequel - but not really - to Klassen's [b:I Want My Hat Back|11233988|I Want My Hat Back|Jon Klassen|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1327888784s/11233988.jpg|16160067]. And that book was truly hilarious. So worth reading to your kids.
But this one was just "meh". The art was good, and there was some funniness, but in my first-graders words, "It wasn't as funny as the first one."

Funny. Notice facial expressions in illustrations that give information not provided by the text.
This is a sequel worthy of the first book “I Want My Hat Back.” Klassen is brilliant in his eye expressions and the story he can tell just by changing eye shape. I love how the little fish tells the story and we see coordinating glimpses of what other fish/crab are actually doing at the same time as hearing the narration.
I love the drawings, the color and the expressions, which are absolutely hilarious.

Another classic. Absolutely, delightfully, dark little book.
