This was a silly story yet an enjoyable one. I read most of it today, a windy damp day in early April, finishing it in time to get dinner started. If you like mysteries, stories set in France that includes French, Italian and British persona, and a mysterious strong-willed protagonist who couples herself with an unsuspecting proprietor of a B&B, you have in this book the makings of an entertaining romp.
I recommend this if you are looking for a quick read, something to lighten your day. For stories in a similar vein but with much more meat, I suggest The Thursday Murder Club mysteries, of which there are currently three with a fourth one anticipated sometime this year.

Boken börjar med ett väldigt vagt mysterium, tänk ett gäng tioåringar som letar ”mysterier” till sin deckarklubb. Sen följer en mysmordsberättelse strösslad med stereotyper à la brittisk författare och ovanligt många förklaringar av blickar och ansiktsuttryck, typ ”with an air of ’what can you do?’”
Jag var tvungen att bläddra tillbaka några gånger för att kolla upp vad mysteriet egentligen var, och andra saker som hände för snabbt eller inte förklarades. Många fick inte ens någon förklaring.
Rekommenderar i stället Richard Osmans The Thursday Murder Club-serie om det är mysmord på landsbygden du är ute efter!

Loved it. Full of laugh out loud humour. Would absolutely recommend.
I do like a murder mystery but did not enjoy this. Too light weight. Not at all funny and a ridiculously limp character as one of the protagonists. Start of a series but won’t be reading anymore.
