like many others, i am severely bothered by the sudden appearance of vani as an obvious method of placating those who don't enjoy their heroes being- gasp!- involved in a homosexual relationship. but overall this is still a very solid installment in the series, and i plowed through it just as fast as i did the others.

This was crazy… not one second of respite was allowed throughout all 565 pages. The best book in series so far. As well as the saddest…

One thing about this series is how rich and emotional the connections between the main cast of characters are. How all of them are so intertwined and caring for each other breaks me each time I read one of the books. And in this one specifically, it was at it’s tremendously emotionally DAUNTING peak… I love them all so much…

I knew it had to happen but god… durge… being dead from the first book and staying alive only because of the iron splinter was so fucking heart breaking. Legitimately one of the most amazing characters I’ve stumbled upon. I’ll miss him so fucking much…
