Once again, Katrina Halle has hit all of my dark little buttons. Hollow is a darkly gothic retelling that seeps into the bones and lives there. The [horror] feels oppressive, close and claustrophobic enough that my heart was racing right along with the characters'. Ichabod's fear and rationalizations feel genuine and give him a more human flavor than many MMCs I've read in the past.
The tension (both fearful and sexual) is thick and only gets more so as the book goes on, Brom's return ratcheting everything up to eleven.
I am in love with every single thing about this book and I can't wait to start the second!
Graphic: Violence
Moderate: Drug use
Minor: Death of parent and Gaslighting

Creepy, mysterious, spicy, and fast paced! I was hooked immediately and am super excited to see where this goes for Kat, Crane, and Brom!

I wanted to dnf this book a couple of times but didn’t, I wanted to see how the headless horseman was presented in this book and hated how he was. Brom literally showed no signs of being a witch when he’s introduced and then surprise he is.
Katrina’s mother also bothers me a great deal with how ok she is with letting her daughter have sex outside of wedlock, especially for the time period. We also still don’t know her mother’s motives or anything of why she shouldn’t be trusted, just that we shouldn’t.

This was not what I was expecting and after I took some time to think about it, I'm really glad it wasn't!
Perfectly creepy for spooky season with witchy vibes and creepy ghosties but HOLY MOLY the heat on this spice was making my Kindle emit steam lol.
Crane is a much more engaging character than in any of the Sleepy Hollow stories I've read or watched .. when you read his POV you get the feeling that you're in that brilliant and wildly processing brain as he jumps through his thoughts to reach conclusions.
Because of Crane's enigmatic character, Kat falls a little flat for me - he takes up so much energy in the story that even with a dual POV, I found myself looking forward to the chapters written from his perspective. I will VERY strongly stand by the development of the relationship between Kat, Crane and Brom.. I'm always curious how a throuple will work and this is the 2nd book I've read this month where the author did a fabulous job of creating a believable story arc involving all three characters and their romance.
If you like:
- novellas that end on a cliffy (and man that was an aggressive end!)
- MMF/MFM/FMM love stories
- secrets, betrayal, broken promises and HEAT..
.. you won't be disappointed in this quick Sleepy Hollow retelling.

I had really high hopes for this book but walked away disappointed. It seemed, to me, that the storyline was written around the spicey scenes instead of incorporating the spicey segments into the story. I mean, I read it for the spiciness, but it seemed I completely left the story for those parts.

OMG this book was so good, i literally did not want to put it down. I loved it, Brom, Crane, and Kat were written so wonderfully and the story flowed so well. The twists were completely unexpected and I didn't know what was going to happen next. It really pulled me in and I am sad that I have to wait another month for the next book to find out what happens next. This was an amazing read and I highly recommend! Plus Sleepy Hollow vibes and spice? Perfect for spooky season!
